After a systematic overview of mushrooms, the main useful features for their general classification will be mapped out.

These aspects are also in a strict connection to ecological aspects, to both trophic group and growth environment. Biotechnological application are various: from mushrooms’ cultivation to medical aspects, enzyme’s production and bioremediation potential.

The course’s topics can be adapted to PhD students’ interests.
