Alpine Plants Ecology, Biogeography and Conservation
Docenti: Andrea Mondoni, Simone Orsenigo
The course covers aspects of alpine plants diversity, systematic, reproduction, conservation biology, vegetation ecology and biogeography. Excursions and teamwork on case studies will be carried out in alpine environment (Northern Apennines or Alps). Students receive hands on training in field monitoring plant population dynamics in response to global change, plant translocations and in sampling plant functional traits. Subsequent training will involve lab exercises on measuring plant functional traits (vegetative and reproductive) and data analysis.
